Fabric Curtains Combined with Zebra Blinds – Hiep Binh Chanh, Thu Duc
This project in Hiep Binh Chanh, Thu Duc, features a modern townhouse living room with a spacious layout, high ceilings, and large glass doors opening onto a balcony—a typical challenge when balancing light control, privacy, and high-end aesthetics.
The spatial requirements were clear: abundant natural light entering through the large glass doors could cause glare, interfere with TV viewing, and create a year-round sense of heat in Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time, the space needed to retain a modern, warm appearance with golden-toned natural wood furnishings, symmetrical black walls, and a sophisticated black-and-white TV cabinet.
Our solution was to combine three layers of smart window treatments. Zebra roller blinds (horizontal stripes) were installed on the main glass doors, allowing layered light adjustment—they provide a view of the balcony when open while blocking direct sunlight when closed. Pleated fabric curtains (vertical panels) serve an aesthetic purpose, adding a soft accent in linen gray and cream tones. The fabric curtains on the adjacent large doorway feature a deep weave, creating an elegant feel suited to the modern architecture.
During installation, we ensured that the roller blinds were vertically aligned and centered, the gaps were even, and the mounting system was firmly secured to the ceiling. The curtain surfaces were smooth and wrinkle-free, the edges aligned with the walls, the hooks concealed, and the stitching straight. The result is a living room that is both functional and luxurious—light is optimally controlled without compromising the project’s aesthetic appeal.
