Blackout Fabric Curtains for the Conference Room – Taipei University, District 7

This project was carried out in the multipurpose/conference room of Taipei University, District 7 — a modern learning space requiring flexible light control for presentations, conferences, and teaching activities.

The Rèm Cửa Thanh Vy team identified the main challenge: the space receives strong natural light from above (a lightweight ceiling and high windows), but requires complete blackout capability when using projection equipment (a projector and screen). At the same time, the facility required a neat, safe, and highly durable aesthetic for a learning environment with heavy foot traffic.

Solution applied: a charcoal-black single-layer fabric curtain system combined with vertical blinds and professional curtain tracks. The black fabric was selected to ensure maximum light blocking, meeting the blackout requirements when using a projector. The tracks were installed in parallel, creating uniform, professional pleats. The fabric curtains were properly stretched without wrinkles, while the grommets/hooks were installed neatly and safely for users.

Results: the entire system operates smoothly, providing complete coverage when needed while maintaining flexible light adjustment through the vertical blinds. Beyond light blocking, the project creates a professional appearance for the learning space, enhancing the conference room as a whole. This is one of the school projects that Rèm Cửa Thanh Vy is proud of for its high-quality installation and the educational facility’s satisfaction.
