Blackout Roller Blinds for An Thanh Office, Ben Luc, Long An

The installation of blackout roller blinds at a modern office in An Thanh, Ben Luc, Long An was a typical practical challenge that we frequently handle in the Southeast region. This office features an open-plan design with a large floor area, multiple large windows facing outdoors, and glass walls separating work areas. It is a modern workplace with high requirements for light control and aesthetics.

The main challenge was controlling the abundant natural light coming through the large windows. In the afternoon, direct sunlight caused glare on computer screens, affecting employees’ work performance. At the same time, indoor temperatures rose in the afternoon, increasing the load on the air-conditioning system.

We installed blackout roller blinds in light gray and light blue, combined with black edging to create an aesthetic accent suited to the modern office space. The blackout fabric provides 95–98% light coverage, prevents glare, and reduces the temperature by approximately 3–5°C compared with having no blinds. The installation mechanism was precisely bent and fitted, ensuring durability and smooth operation over the long term.

The completed installation showed that the blinds were precisely cut and installed in straight, parallel alignment, with consistent spacing and no twisting or unevenness. The finished system was clean and complied with residential construction standards. The client in An Thanh was very satisfied with the light-blocking capability and the comfortable temperature maintained throughout the office.

    FAQ

One long continuous blind looks seamless, but the entire floor has to share the same light level, while desks next to the glass and desks in the middle of the room have completely different needs. At An Thạnh, each glass bay has its own roller blind, so whoever sits near a particular window can adjust that window. This layout also makes maintenance more manageable because only the damaged blind needs to be removed.
Screen glare comes from a strong light source behind or diagonally to the side, so the goal is to cut direct rays rather than darken the entire room. This office uses two types together: a light-filtering blind for most of the day, and a blackout blind lowered only when presentations are shown with a projector. If only blackout blinds were installed, the ceiling lights would have to stay on throughout the day.
A suspended ceiling cannot bear the load, so the curtain track must be mounted to the wall section above the glass frame or to anchors secured into the concrete floor slab above. Here, the roller blinds are attached to the top edge of the window recess, leaving the modular ceiling intact without cutting any panels. During the site survey, one ceiling panel should be lifted to check the clearance and the location of the electrical raceway before finalizing the installation height.
This project ran from 01/01/2021 to 05/01/2021, taking four days for all the glass frontage and the glass partitions separating the areas. There were many blinds, but they were all the same type, so drilling and hanging could proceed in a streamlined sequence. The parts that slowed the work were the glass partitions between rooms, which had to be measured separately because their aluminum frames were slimmer than the exterior window frames and required shorter screws.
The project records a 24-month warranty from the handover date of 05/01/2021. In an office, the components most likely to require attention are the clutch mechanisms and pull cords because each blind is operated several times a day, far more frequently than in a home. Both are covered. It is best to designate one person to consolidate fault reports, avoiding situations where a problem goes unreported for months.
The edging running along the blind’s edge makes its boundary clearly visible against the light-colored wall, so even a few millimeters of misalignment can be spotted immediately instead of waiting until the blind jams. In a row of adjacent windows, the edging also creates a visual rhythm that helps the entire row look straight. It is a small detail, but useful for the administration team’s periodic inspections.
